There\u2019s no real collaboration, motivation fades, and the team isn\u2019t rowing in the same direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s an underlying reason that\u2019s rarely called out with the honesty it deserves: <strong>many leaders don\u2019t lead themselves.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They direct without listening to themselves, demand without questioning, and manage people without first doing the hardest work of all\u2014looking inward and developing their self-leadership.<br>That takes courage, humility, and earns true respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Self-leadership is not a luxury for those who have time to \u201cwork on themselves.\u201d<\/strong><br><\/strong>It\u2019s a responsibility\u2014and the true foundation of transformative leadership. Because a team doesn\u2019t just respond to what you do, but to what you radiate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Your level of self-awareness, emotional management, self-care, and internal coherence defines the quality of the relationships you build\u2014and, through them, the results you achieve.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>New generations are no longer satisfied with hierarchical leadership or bosses who only focus on results.<br><strong>They want mentors. <\/strong>They seek purpose, connection, growth, and <strong>authenticity.<\/strong> And that authenticity begins with self-leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The invisible impact of your inner state<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you ever noticed how<strong> your emotional state shapes the team\u2019s atmosphere<\/strong>? Or how a meeting can completely shift depending on whether someone walks in with anxiety or calm energy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Mario Alonso Puig refers to \u201cneural suicide\u201d <\/strong>to describe how, in states of chronic stress and constant alert, some neurons literally shut down because they can no longer endure the internal environment. This impairs memory, disrupts sleep, worsens mood, and <strong>weakens our capacity for emotional self-regulation<\/strong>. As leaders, we often operate from that constant tension\u2014unintentionally passing it on to our teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Self-leadership means taking responsibility <\/strong>for your energy, your health, your emotions, and your impact. And it reconnects you with your humility\u2014the kind that allows you to grow without guilt or toxic self-pressure.
